Part Time Nanny With Special Needs Experience

I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for many years. As a a preschool teacher, I adapted my teaching techniques to children with various levels of learning abilities. As a TSS, I worked with a 3 yr. old boy who was diagnosed with PDD and only spoke a few words. I followed the BSC's treatment plan for ABA that proved to be highly effective. In two years, the child made advances to full sentences and it helped him to stay focused, stay on task and his self-stimulation behavior decreased. I most recently was a nanny for a child with Down Syndrome. I assisted his Early Intervention Therapists by providing fun and creative activities for him to practice new skills during the week. The therapists were impressed with the progress he made to reach his goals. My goal would be to work with you and your child's therapists as a team so that your child can achieve this type of progress, as well!

Mary Kay was a caregiver for a child that I saw for PT for early intervention sessions for over a year. Mary Kay was always engaged with the suggested activities, practiced them with me in the sessions, and carried them out throughout the week. She always made therapy activities fun and was very creative in applying strategies in different ways throughout the day and week. She had great questions and observations for me when I would come for sessions which helped me know where to help next.

Cait is AWESOME! She is a super down to Earth, kind, friendly and dependable person. She has worked with my children for years (ages 3 and 7), one of which is on the Autism Spectrum. She makes everyone she meets feel at ease, I trust her with my life, and she not only is a wonderful caregiver/nanny - but she really optimizes the time with the kids to make it a fun, productive learning environment. She has given my kids confidence, taught them manners, and instilled wonderful values. We love Cait dearly, any family would be so lucky to have her!
