8 years of as-needed experience with managing the care of my brother-in-law who is on the spectrum. Experience includes: driving to and from school, running errands with, preparing/providing meals, making comfortable in preventing distress and calming when in distress, readily available during seizure emergencies, encouraging talents and calming activities, creating dialogue, lifeguard for swimming needs, and regular attentive sitting while mother-in-law was busy in home with duties or out running errands. 2-3 years of as-needed care for my cousin who is also on the spectrum. Lifeguard for swimming needs, physical activities to keep moving, cognitive interactions to help development and encourage, regular guidance in any help as needed. I do not consider my experience as "paid" because I do it to help my family whenever they need assistance. I did put 2 years of "paid" because I have gotten paid over the last few years either by mutual help, trade or rent deductions.
