I have to admit my first experience was very overwhelming because the patient had Huntington's disease. Huntington's disease, in my opinion, is a genetic curse passed down throughout generations. By my patient, I had been punched, slapped and loved all at the same time. Although his body and mind deteriorated before my eyes, I still had hope and compassion for him. Before his passing, I sang "You are my Sunshine" to him; it was his favorite song. When I saw the tears streaming down his face, I new that I had made a difference in his life. Outside of the birth of my own child; it was the most fulfilling moment in my life.
