I have a son with disabilities. So I understand how difficult it can be. I also understand how fragile a child or adult with mental and/or physical disabilities can be as well. He's almost 21 now and after being told by my own family to just hand him over to the state because he was just to much to handle for me. HOWEVER, not for a second did I even entertain that route. I had my breakdowns but NEVER gave up hope that things will get better and he will start to thrive and become and live a more normal life as much as possible. Today he's a happy young adult and thriving to succeed on his own. I'm so glad I didn't let absolutely anyone convince me otherwise. I am a person that can show true compassion, love, and understanding to others even when dealing with my own bumps in the road. I strive to become the best that I can be and will go above and beyond anything to help others and achieve success. Not because I have to or need to but because I want to.
