I have been working with special needs children for over 5 years, ranging from ages 10 months to 18 years old. Which I Absolutely loved! I love to help children with their educational and entertainment needs. As direct support specialist which intern meant, I was to support the child and can be seen as a teacher within the home or at centered facilities. As child autism trainer, I would implicate programs by using instructional control, reinforcement, error less teaching and error correction. I also work with the child on prompting, time delay, verbal behavior and some data collection. These are great ways to have your child be successful in all the teaching your child will be learn for that period of time. I had the pleasure of working with an awesome family with twin boys age 3. One of their son was physical and emotionally delayed, but so sweet. I blended his food and spoon fed it to him, did some therapies to work on fine motor skills, cognitive development, and speech. Children were bathed, laundry, dishes and other duties. I work with multi special needs children everyday on all different types of teaching, weather life skills or educational skills I love it.
