I have a son who has Down Syndrome. He got the sniffles frequently and I did not have backup to help me which required that I take off work. I understand that one cannot leave a special needs child with just anyone. Patience and more patience is what is required with a child with special needs. I love and value children with special needs. My son is currently living in a group home and is a professional paper shedder. I am not formally trained with letters behind my name in special education but I would say that I got my masters by on the job training. I have been a stay at home mom for years, and have been doing part time by volunteering and arranging special events.
