About Summer

Hello! My name is Summer and I'm a rising second year doctoral student at UNC CH studying public health. Since I was very young I've found joy in care-taking - starting out as a "mother's helper" in late elementary school to recurrent babysitting gigs through high school and college. I love working with kids and providing a safe environment for them while their parent(s) are away, since this was something I so often experienced growing up (and loved all of my sitters!). It's also important to me to work closely with parent(s) to ensure consistency in rules/guidelines for the home. As a "law and order baby" (which my family so affectionately calls me), I appreciate structure in my environment and I've found that consistency is best when it comes to fostering trust in relationships with children (& parent(s)!) From the occasional date night to recurrent jobs, I'm here for your care-taking needs!
