About Sophie

Hi! I've loved spending time and working with kids in varying ways since my first babysitting job. Through college, I worked as an assistant teacher at the local Children's Center with preschool age children. I've also worked with kids as a volunteer at a women's shelter in Boston which I especially enjoyed. I would watch 7-10 children (aged infant to 8 years) with the help of one or two other volunteers to give their parents some time to get things done. Most recently I was a full time nanny for two toddlers for a span of 2 years here in Portland until they moved out of town. I especially love working with kids aging from infant to preschool but am confidant with most ages. I take pride in being someone kids feel safe with but also someone they can have fun and be goofy with! I also absolutely love pets of all kinds, and wouldn't mind a home with animals. I like to spend time outdoors exploring with kids, and finding ways to get creative at home.
