I believe I have the best job in the world. That may sound a little exaggerated but it's absolutely true. I'm so blessed to be able to work with the great kids that I do! My goal is to make a positive and lasting effect on their lives and to teach them to be kind, polite, and respectful little people.
I have more than 8 years of experience with children of all ages from many different families. I love doing arts and crafts, being outside and taking walks, playing board games, and reading to them. A few of my favorite outings with kids are going to the library, to the park, getting healthy food from a market or a grocery store and having a picnic, and going to a museum. I have experience watching several children at once, and handling many duties at the same time. I am loving but firm and know when and how to calmly and patiently correct behavior without ever yelling or becoming frustrated. It is always a learning experience with kids and it is my job to teach them the right way to act and how to handle situations.
I have worked with a lot of twins! I have been a part-time nanny for a year and a half for almost 3-year-old boys and I also babysit 5-year-old twin girls. There is a different dynamic between twins than other siblings and it is really fascinating to see. The older of the twin girls has type 1 Diabetes and I am able to dose her insulin and keep blood sugar levels balanced. During the summer of 2010, I was the full-time nanny for an infant boy beginning when he was 2 months old. He learned to sit up and rolled over for the first time while he was with me. It was amazing to see him growing so much in one summer. I have since worked with a handful of infants; one of whom I watched a few times overnight. Infants are always wonderful to watch and I love that they will cuddle up for hours while giving smiles and little coos.
I teach Sunday school at the church I attend for the preschool and kindergarten class and also volunteer in the nursery there. During the school year on Tuesday nights, I volunteer in the preschool room for a program at my church where we can have anywhere from 12 to 20 kids under the age of 5. It is sometimes chaotic but so much fun! It has really expanded my creativity and absolutely my patience, looking after and finding activities for such a large amount of children. I believe I was meant to teach kids. I take every opportunity to practice shapes, colors, numbers, and letters with the little ones I watch. Their proud smiles when they learn something new is so great to see.
I have been figure skating since I was 7 years old and now have been coaching for 4 years at a skating rink. I coach all ages - from 2 to 16. I choreograph programs for groups, pairs, and for individual skaters. I am the head coach of a synchronized skating team and I organize their competitions and all aspects of their programs with much appreciated help from their fabulous moms!
My top priority is always the safety and well being of the kids I take care of. I am always responsible, punctual, and reliable. I am able to cook healthy meals and do light housekeeping, anything I can to make moms' and dads' lives a little easier. I have been looking for a family needing a full-time nanny that I can be with for the long term. I would love to be able to watch the kids grow up and form strong bonds with them. Please contact me if you feel I would be a good fit for your family.
