About Shannan

Ive worked with both women and men. All had varying needs and capabilities. The majority needed mobility assistance and personal care; lifting, bathing, dressing. All needed day to day at home care; cooking, cleaning, planing and hosting gatherings. I've also assisted with travel, both locally such as doctors appointments, shopping, or social events as well as long distance such as out of state road trips, flying for different reasons like vacation, events, visiting family. The most important thing that I have learned is, aging and the shift in independence is felt differently by all. Some would like to have help to do all the things, some would like to rest while others are able to take over what they no longer are able to accomplish personally, and some struggle with the loss of independence; this is where patience is most important. My intention is to be as observant as possible day to day to understand what each moment requires while allowing for their independence when possible.
