About Rebecca

I am currently a 4th-year Chemistry PhD candidate at the University of North Carolina studying materials and physical chemistry. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame in 2020. Throughout college and graduate school, I have tutored up to 20 hours/week in college chemistry and mathematics courses, as well as high school math and science. I have gained a lot of experience working with students of all grade levels and with varying degrees of expertise, and have learned how to adjust my teaching style to fit the student. My primary goals of science and math tutoring are to 1. bridge traditional course boundaries to utilize a student's strengths, (i. e. by using previously-learned math concepts to build a better understanding of physics) and 2. focus on practicing problems related to course content to ensure an understanding of the material in a variety of formats.
