About Heather

Throughout my education, I have always enjoyed my time teaching students the skills they need to understand and appreciate it, to the point where I became a certified teacher. My experience started in undergrad. I tutored a group of students or individuals weekly on what they were learning in the introductory physics course using a problem set designed by the department. I reinforced problem solving skills, clarified misunderstandings, and ensured an understanding of material. I tutored helping students with ACT prep and college essays before starting my Masters. After finishing that, I taught two years of Honors Chemistry and Physical Science at a magnet and college preparatory school in Raleigh, NC. I grew comfortable with curriculum development, creating positive relationships with students, connecting the material to relevant experiences, and anticipating problem areas.
