For the past 3 years I have worked full time at a residential school for individuals with Autism. During this time, I have taught self-help, community, and academic skills using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and also assisted with daily living tasks (e.g. bathing, tooth brushing, getting dressed, etc). I recently relocated to the Portland area and am looking for some part time care/respite jobs until I can sit for my BCBA in November. I was a nanny (for typically developing children) all through college, however individuals with special needs will always have a special place in my heart! I am comfortable working with children and adolescents with many different diagnosis including individuals with autism, Aspergers, fragile X, developmental delay, PDD-NOS and learning difficulties/delay. Additionally, I am comfortable providing self-help/hygiene assistance, light housekeeping/cooking and engaging in outdoor activities.
