I have been working with special needs children for five years. I have experience dealing with a wide range of developmental and physical abilities. I can lift up to 100 lbs, and I am comfortable with transfers to/from wheelchairs, walkers, standers, beds and chairs. I am comfortable with toileting children of all need levels. Two years ago I was trained in tube feeding, and would be willing to do that again. I have worked with catheters as well. I work during the day as a classroom assistant, and I am also a caregiver through the state. I love to watch the gains that these children make. They are truly amazing! I firmly believe that we all have something to learn, and none of us are on the exact same path. I know that with the unique challenges children with special needs face, they need a caring, patient, understanding caregiver. Through my different experiences, I have a gained a true passion for the challenge of helping special needs children learn and grow.
