Over the past year, I've been a personal care assistant for my twin sister M with Cerebral Palsy who is verbal, mobile and social. During our time together, I have been her means of transportation to social activities and weekly appointments. I've had the opportunity to spend time with the organization Highland Friendship Club where M meets other teens and young adults with various disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. I assist M with bathing, dressing and medication. As she grows older, she has been growing more independent and is learning how to do these things on her own. I am here to meet and assist other individuals with disabilities to the best of my abilities. I would love the opportunity to work with individuals with disabilities I haven't been exposed to before and interested in exploring the spectrum. Above all, I'm here to serve as an advocate for individuals with disabilities in order for them to lead independent self-sufficient lives.
