About Mary

I'd describe my personality as reliable, kind, creative. I like working with kids because I have learned and grown with them in my own family, and while teaching preschool for three years. In recent years I've cared for my own twin grandchildren and their older sister, as well as school age nephews and nieces. We enjoy participating in events and programs at the Nature Center, park district and after-school school music programs, as well as programs and visits to museums. I'm looking for a job that will allow me to apply the skills and experience I have in caring for children. I am supportive of parents in their hopes and dreams for their children, including a fair sense of discipline balanced with kindness and respect for their children's developmental needs, and creativity. I started working with kids after college, when my first child was ready for preschool. In my spare time, I like to knit, sing in the choir, take daily walks, and participate in sports and theatre.
