About Laura

With extensive experience in childcare and mentoring, I have honed my skills in supporting and nurturing children across various age groups. From 2014 to 2018, I worked as a personal nanny and family assistant in Eugene, OR, and Palo Alto, CA, where I provided comprehensive care for children aged 5-14. My responsibilities included meal preparation, school pickups, activity transportation, and light housekeeping. Additionally, I offered date night and overnight sitting services. Since August 2021, I have served as a Mentor with AmeriCorps in Napa, CA. In this role, I focused on supporting elementary and middle school students with academic and social-emotional development. I conducted individual counseling sessions for students facing mental health challenges, facilitated group therapy, and collaborated with educators to create personalized strategies for student success. My approach is centered on creating a supportive environment that encourages growth and self-discovery.
