I interviewed Laura for a child care position part time. She was on time and seemed very pleasant. She was very talkative and I had to redirect the interview numerous times. She said all the right things and when mentioning she was leaving her current job because she needed more hours and for something closer, i made sure to ask her about the hours we were needing someone. Went over duties, the kids personalities, expectations and asked a few questions. She said our hours would be perfect. She said she would want to come by to meet the children and my husband a few days later, on Saturday. They arranged a time and she came by talked with my husband and met the kids. He went over the same details I did and they agreed she would start the following Thursday. She text me Monday, 3 days before she was to start that she wasn't going to be able to take the position because it wasn't enough hours. That is fine but say that initially! Be honest and upfront!
