I am currently a co-teacher in a Montessori multi-aged classroom (pk-4-3rd grade). Our classroom provides support to children with various learning differences. I have 6+ years of experience as a full time nanny, and 14 years of experience caring for children. I am working on my degree in education at St. Petersburg College. I'm a firm believer in Piaget's theory of cognitive development. It is vital to allow children the opportunity to explore, experiment, and discover with the use of various "hands on" activities. Whether it be taking children to a discovery museum, or simply exploring a cardboard box, it is important to provide children with the necessary resources and stimulus, allowing their abilities to constantly be challenged.
