When I was younger, I never understood why my cousins struggles were different than mine. He has Autism. I was determined to help him cope. I can now say that I was able to help him with everything he came across; when he was not motivated to further his education because he didn't want to be the "different" kid at school all over again, I had a told him that we were both going to be the "different" kids at school. He looked at me funny. I proceeded to tell him that everyone is different and no one person is the same. To make him better understand what I meant, I made him think about all of his friends and showed him that no one is the same. I will never forget the time he realized he is different but different in a good way, he looked at me and said that he was going to give college a try. A year later, he is attending college and loving it. Special Education has become a passion of mine. I hope to transform the lives of these children and provide extra help to their families !
