I knew I wanted to be a special education teacher when I was in the 8th grade. We had to choose a career and shadow for a week. I chose to shadow a center that specifically worked with children and adults with special needs. I knew that this was the career for me after that week! I began my career off as a part time nanny through college. After college I worked as a full time special education teacher for 6 years in the public school system. Along the way I continued nannying and tutoring. I am very patient, caring, hard-working, and passionate about my work.
