I started woeking with a variety of special need children when I firdt started teaching swim lessons. There was a need for this possition because nobody was specialized in it at my former job. I had autistic, nonverbal, and children who had many different needs. Taking a gap year from college gave me the opportunity to work in the special need department at one of my high schools. Having a ASL background I was one of the only people who could help our deaf students. Have my Behavioral Tech Certificate has given me the opportunity to work with an amazing artistic child for the past year. I am currently applying for my masters in child play therapy and counseling.
