My name is Jordana, but most of the kids I've worked with call me Jordie. I'm 21 years old and I've been working/volunteering with children with special needs for almost 6 years. I'm in school to become an intervention specialist for learners with moderate/intensive needs. After I get my bachelors, I may continue on to go into behavior therapy for children with autism. My favorite aspects of teaching and therapy are communication/social skills and independence/life skills. My passions are autism, deafness, and Tourette Syndrome and its associated conditions, but I have experience and willingness to work with a wide variety of disabilities and levels of functioning. I have extensive hands-on experience with the following diagnoses (my specialties): Autism, deafness/hearing impairment, Tourette Syndrome/tic disorders, OCD, ADHD, anxiety SCI/paralysis. There are more, but I'm running out of room - if you want to know more about all the diagnoses I have experience with, just ask! I'm familiar with the use of assisting devices, like hearing aids/cochlear implants, wheelchairs/walkers, leg braces, and AAC methods like talkers, iPad apps, and PECS. I'm also fluent in American Sign Language. I do not have a car or driver's license, but I would have my own reliable transportation to and from job site.
