Hello! My name is Jenna and I'm a Gonzaga University graduate. I recently moved to Seattle from San Diego and I'm looking to babysit on the side! I have 10+ years of babysitting experience- I have babysat babies, toddlers, kids, and preteens. In addition, I've spent a lot of my time at college volunteering as a mentor to kids in elementary schools. Last summer, I was a camp counselor at a Girl Scouts sleep away camp. I am CPR and first-aid certified. Babysitting is by far the best job I've had because I love playing with and taking care of kids! I'm very interactive and hands-on when I babysit- I love to play games, draw/color, read books, play outside, and play with toys. I'm able to meal-prep, cook, and do light-housekeeping. I was delighted to find Jenna as she connected well with my kids and they really liked her when interviewed her last week. She agreed to help us out twice a week for the next few months. Today she came for two hours to get oriented and spend some time with my daughter. I thought everything went great and we confirmed plans for tomorrow morning. Then an hour later I got a text saying that she has decided not to return because she felt she wouldn't be able to entertain the kids "without a nap or TV break". (I specified no screen time and my daughter doesn't need naps every day now.) I called and explained that the hours were flexible and we could do 3 hr blocks instead of the planned 5 hrs, and she could certainly take breaks. Then she explained she was uncomfortable that my husband and I were around because we might judge her for letting our child play independently while she relaxes. Whatever the reason, I'm left high and dry for tomorrow's child care and I need to go in to work.
