About Hannah

I earned my M. A in Special Education and am certified to teach k-12 grades. Prior to being a stay-at-home mom, I was an elementary school Special Education teacher. During my masters program, I was a co-teacher in a 5th grade classroom and loved teaching middle school students as well. I am very passionate about Special Education and have had the great fortune of teaching students with varied learning differences, ranging from minor reading challenges to students with severe Autism. I minored in art as an undergraduate, and am a big believer in incorporating the arts into the learning process whenever possible. My teaching philosophy is grounded in Howard Gardner's Multiple intelligence theory which focuses on the social, academic, physical, and emotional development of each child. My personality is warm, kind, fun, and patient; and I am an impactful teacher because I connect with my students by recognizing and embracing their strengths as a learner.
