About Grace

It is very unfortunate that I am having to leave this review. Grace was sweet and nurturing to our infant son for the two weeks she assisted our family. But after having two call outs from her within two weeks (nannying for us only two days per week), we will no longer be requiring her services. The first call out she gave my husband and I was literally 15 minutes before she was to begin her shift. We both work and ended up have to take time off of work to stay home with our baby. 1. One of the frustrating parts the first call out was that my husband and I contacted her the night before to confirm she was coming and she indicated she was. Had we known then that she'd be calling out, we could've had time to make other arrangements. This has now happened a second time, where we contact her the night before and again Grace has provided no warning or notified us far enough in advance of calling out. We are back to having to take time off because we were unable to secure another nanny in time. 2. As a courtesy, reliability and promptness really makes a difference and helpful for us to find babysitting arrangements. Grace was unable to consistently demonstrate either. 3. Please note, Grace did show a willingness to want work and seemed amicable and kind to our son but unfortunately was unreliable, inconsistent, not trustworthy in her ability to show up and perform her duties. I am 100% empathetic to having to call out for various life, family emergencies, illness, etc but as a courtesy do ask for the childcare provider to notify in advance not 15 minutes prior to starting the shift. I do believe once Grace can master the courtesy of communicating early and often to parents/guardians when she is unable to make it, she will be on the road to becoming an even better nanny. The consistent lack of dependability has forced my husband and I to find other childcare options that can provide this level of basic professionalism.
