I have always had a passion for helping others, and that is why I have chosen to pursue a career in nursing. I have worked as a nurse aide at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital for the past year. As an aide there I have gained lots of experience working with patients who have suffered strokes, traumatic brain injuries, or any other type of ailment. While most of my patients are adults, I have been babysitting children on a regular basis since I was 12-years-old, and have loved every second of it. I got a taste of working with children with special needs my senior year of high school, where I spent every Wednesday afternoon volunteering at Children's Respite Care Center. I learned how precious all these children are, and how rewarding working with them can be. As a current nursing student, I am constantly learning more and more about how to better care for others, and I would love to put that knowledge into practice through working with special needs children.
