My passion has always been to work with people with special needs. I have tons of experience in this field, so please don't let my age discourage you. During my years as a high school student, I interned at a school, which I have compiled over 160 hours of service at, in which I work with severely autistic students ages 4-6. These students can't speak and often cant walk. I was also the president of Best Buddies at my high school, which is a club that encourages inclusion and acceptance for students with intellectual and developmental delays. The program matches students like myself with a peer that has a disability in a one-to-one friendship in which they must communicate and interact outside of school. I have been matched with many students with severe autism or down syndrome. I also just finished an internship at the Institute, where I worked with students with severe disabilities and problem behavior. I helped develop assessment and treatment plans. At the University, I study Early Child Special Education. Although young, I am very passionate and compassionate. My hours are flexible and I can provide my own transportation. Not only do I want to be a caregiver, I want to be a friend.
