I have multiple close family members with a variety of cognitive delays, and about 8 years ago, I stumbled upon working with individuals with specials needs and cannot see myself doing anything else. I have worked with many individuals in the autism spectrum, Down syndrome, and even Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, also behavioral and mood disorders. The age range I have worked with is very wide, ranging from 6 years old to individuals in their 40s. I have created and implemented behavioral plans and along with working along side licensed therapists and doctors in creating and following through with my client's care plans. My goal for my clients is always for them to be as independent as possible, with me behind them guiding, teaching, and cheering them on in their daily activities. I just love and adore my consumers for so many reasons, but mainly because no matter how much I could ever teach them, my guys return those lessons to me 10 folds.
