I am a registered nurse currently attaining my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. I currently have an Associates in Nursing. I have taken several psychology courses required through my degrees. I am currently taking sign language to enhance my communication skills. I have worked with almost every possible medical population in oncology (cancer care), pediatrics, psychiatric, geriatric, long and short term care, surgical, critical and respite care. I have experience giving medications, injection, oral, transdermal and IV, wound care, dietary, cardiac equipment, G-tubes, tracheostomy care, central lines, catheters, colostomy care, ileostomy care, EKG and more. I have worked with children and adults with special needs in both a clinical/hospital setting and at my current job coaching basic skating skills. I absolutely am in love with working with those who have a disability. I love the interaction and care I am able to provide these individuals. I have recognized the additional patience and skill required to properly care for those with a disability and these skills have been acquired both through 300+ clinical hours in various medical settings and also through my current job that I have worked for 5+ years.
