About Cheyanne

Hello! I am currently finishing my Masters in Geology at NIU and will be teaching as an adjunct at community colleges in the Chicago area starting in the fall until I secure a full-time faculty position. I was a mentor for for a little over a year during my undergraduate studies and have worked as a TA for intro geology labs for the 2 years at NIU. I also volunteered for a citizen science water quality program throughout my undergraduate time and helped with a variety of educational presentations and activities. I also have ADHD/ADD so I have learned a multitude of ways to work with students who struggle with ADHD/ADD throughout my education. I am also familiar with helping students with dyslexia. During my graduate education, I have taken several courses and workshops about teaching and various methods to help students of any age gain a deeper understanding of their material!
