For the last six years, I have worked with adults who have developmental disabilities in a day program and residential settings. I currently work as a teacher in an adult day program by developing and implementing art, movement and communications curricula for people all along the spectrum of functioning levels and abilities of communication. In addition to my primary job, I work as a respite provider by taking over for the care of people only as needed. The large portion of each of my jobs involves assistance with bathrooms, changing and bathing.
