I have been nannying part time for the past several years. Realizing more and more families are looking for someone with special needs experience I am opening my profile to include those services as well. My experience includes being a parent to a son with bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety. I spent almost 5 years as a mental health provider in a day treatment program where I focused on managing behaviors. I spent a year working as a district behavior interventionist for a local school district and for the past 9. 5 years I've held a full time job working as the outreach/resource coordinator, family support advocate for a small non profit that provides support services to families who have children with mental, emotional, behavioral disabilities. Most of my work there has been with special education advocacy. And at times I've helped some single parents caught in a bind by watching their kids who were sent home so they didn't get in trouble at work.

I wish I can give zero stars. I hired her for an emergency where I have to take my spouse to the hospital, informing her (pre-hire) that we had a pet in the household (mentioning the breeds in case of allergy). As we were leaving to go to the hospital, we heard screaming from our child, who was suddenly neglected. When we checked our cameras to see what happened to the sitter, she literally just ran away. She sent a text later claiming she had asthma that was set off, which didn't make sense to us as she had just come back from the park. We are just terrified if this was to happen even two minutes later, since she wouldn't know if we were there or not. I don't why such an asthmatic individual would accept a job at a household with corgi-mix, as well as voluntarily suggesting going to the park with absolutely no issues. We are in contact with the police department. We plead that anybody considering this woman refrain from hiring her. This "sitter" is literally our worst nightmare.
