Hi, I'm Barbara. I have been a child care provider for 32 years. I'm a mother of 3 and grandmother of 10. Live in Bowie, Maryland. Have a passion for what I do as a seasoned child care provider.\nIn those 32 years I have worked as a Private Nanny, Preschool and Infant Teacher, Part-time Substitute Teacher with P. G. County Schools and School-age Group Leader with P. G. Parks and Rec. Currently working as a Doula part-time. \nI love helping and educating families with the development and nurturing of their child(ren), and their parents. With all the experience, education, and hard work that I gained over the years it has allowed me to become the best child care provider. I believe quality care versus quantity care. \nThings I love to do outside of working are: Spending time with my family, watching/catching up on my favorite tv series, vacationing, outdoor walks, creating arts/crafts projects, and a lot of self-care.

Barbara was hired the 2 weeks that day care closed due to a COVID+ child (no direct contact with my child to my knowledge). She set up an interview to set expectations (we paid her $35/hr) and we were very pleased with her interaction with our child. My husband worked from home but Barbara took care of E and didn't interrupt his day. She warned us that as E was getting up on her knees playing at times that we should lower the crib. Great guidance. She practiced good hygiene and wore a mask and my daughter just loved her. I came home to the dishes and bottles being washed, formula for the next day and everything was clean and folded and organized. VERY professional. VERY clean. Just set expectations and the system. She has a contract that spells out everything. We loved her and most important our 6 month old loved her.
