I love working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities! While I have never done so professionally, I have volunteered in many different capacities for those with disabilities. In high school, I took a girl in my neighborhood with severe disabilities to the park every week. I also had the opportunity to help with two adaptive musicals in high school as a vocal coach and as an actor's shadow, which basically means I was assigned to help one of the leads learn her staging, dances, lines, and songs, and help her remember anything she forgot while practicing or performing. Then, in college, I started a service program called Adaptive Show Choir where community members with disabilities were paired with BYU students to learn songs and choreography to perform in a concert at the end of the semester. I led this program for almost 2 years and absolutely loved spending time learning with and from my friends with disabilities.
