About Alexa

Hi! My name is Alexa and I'm an NYC DOE Public School high school teacher with Teach for America. I recently graduated from Williams College and am excited to be back in the city. I have always had a passion for teaching and for working with kids. Since age 14, I have babysat and tutored for kids ranging from ages 4-13. In 2021, I came on as a junior counselor then promoted to head counselor at the Day Camp at the Jewish Community Center (JCC), leading a group of 15 4-year-olds. I have also worked in nurseries and in other tutoring programs. I've loved teaching young kids, yet meeting new kids and families is equally a learning experience for me. Every new kid I meet teaches me something new about life and brings me joy! As a counselor, I learned how to organize fun activities and manage all types of kids. I would love to share this with a new family this summer! I have some time this summer to help out and babysit before the school year starts. Look forward to meeting you!
