I'm Alva, a woman in my 30s with cerebral palsy who uses a powerchair. I'm looking for attendants to help me with daily living and housekeeping tasks. *paid via payroll* I live in Downtown Oakland with my husband and work full-time. I'm seeking several dedicated, hard-working, and reliable women who are willing to help me live my life independently. Although my shifts are short and spread out, they are vital to my ability to live my life. I want to work with people who enjoy helping others and are willing to become an integrated part of my life. Hours are flexible and I'm willing to work with people on the times. I'm happy to train people -- never worked as a personal care attendant? No problem! What's important to me is that you are willing to learn, work with me, and do your best! If that sounds like you, send me a message! Thanks!

Pay: $30-35 per hour, DOE Start date: ASAP Schedule: Monday-Friday M, T, Th, F: 7 AM-10 AM & 2 PM-7 PM Wednesday: 7 AM-10 AM & 1 PM-7 PM One weekend day per month Occasional overnights & date nights Rare domestic travel 41+ hours per week Benefits: Paid vacation, holidays & sick pay Guaranteed hours Healthcare reimbursement This casual, straightforward family of 4 is eager to find the perfect nanny-family assistant who is easy-going, fun, and playful with the kids, but is also intuitive, responsible, and efficient within the scope of household duties. The two children are delightful and very well-rounded with their interests. 7 year old big sister loves to play the violin, watch the National Geographic channel and learn about animals, swim, dance, play soccer, and draw. She also works very hard to earn regular horseback riding lessons! 3 year old little brother is the friendliest little charmer, and he loves arts and crafts, cars and trucks, and swimming like a fish! Nanny should be aware that he is fearless when it comes to water, so an ability to provide attentive supervision in and around beaches and pools is a requirement! Being an animal-lover runs in the family, so nanny should also enjoy pets. They have an adorable 3-month old shepherd-mix puppy, an indoor/outdoor cat, and a lizard! The home has a doggie door leading to a fenced yard, and when the puppy turns 7 months old, a dog walker will help keep him busy, so regular pet care is not required, but a nanny who would enjoy taking the puppy on walks with the kids is desired. The perfect candidate will truly adore playing with the kids, taking them on adventures to the zoo, parks, and beaches, joining them for after school classes, and encouraging them and providing structure when it comes to their homework and education. Since both children are in school and afters chool activities, and the neighborhood is very residential and not within close walking distance to parks or retail, this position requires quite a bit of driving and a number of family assistant duties. Nanny should generally be comfortable using their own vehicle with mileage reimbursement, as a car will not be provided for use on the job, but one may be available from time to time when mom is working from home. During the fast-paced morning portion of the split shift, nanny will get both kids fed and ready for school, take big sister to elementary in Montclair and little brother to preschool in Fruitvale, and then return to the home to accomplish tasks like kid laundry, light tidying and organizing, and errands. For the afternoon portion of the split shift, nanny will pick the children up from school, support them during homework time (tutoring/homework help desired, but not required. The priority is to keep them focused), take them to their extracurriculars and engage them in activities and outings, and cook family meals. The family has a very health-conscious diet and the kids are big eaters! Most meals will be simple, fresh recipes from a meal kit. The family eats dinner together, but with mom and dad's work schedules, this is a 7 PM meal, so the children will need wholesome snacks earlier in the evening. The informal home, located near Rocky's Market in the Oakmoor neighborhood, is covered from wall to wall in the kids' art and various family mementos. Dad has an engineering job and commutes to the office daily, and mom is a lawyer who currently works from home. Her work area is on the lower level of the two level house, semi-separate from the main living areas. She will return to the office 2-3 times per week in January. This family requires that nanny is up to date on vaccinations, including COVID-19. PLEASE NOTE: WE CANNOT ACCEPT TEXT MESSAGES. Only inquiries via phone, email or website will be considered. (510) 506-6156 jobs@npbayarea.com https://npbayarea.com/inquiry-form-nannies/ http://npbayarea.com/ To be considered for this or any other position through Nannies Plus candidates must: Have a minimum of three years of professional, verifiable childcare experience after the age of 18 Be able to provide stellar references Be willing to undergo background checks Have a clean driving record Be willing to become up to date on CPR and First Aid Become up to date on vaccinations (for most positions) Be open to and able to take a payroll position (W-2) Be able to communicate via email
