Part-Time Pet Sitter With Experience In Wildlife Hospitals And Shelter Medicine
Avg response < 3 hrs
I grew up in a home that was often referred to as a small zoo. Over the course of my life, I have had pets ranging from various fish species, parakeets, to rabbits, to red-footed tortoises; rarely in my upbringing did our home not possess a dog and at no point in my memory did we have any fewer than seven yes you read that right seven cats. I grew up assisting my mother with giving fluids and pills to cats, dogs, and rabbits, while also assisting her in her trapping, socializing, and transporting efforts of various cat colonies and feral cats in general. While in college, I interned at Cornell University's wildlife hospital where I handled, fed, and administered medication (ocular, oral, intravenous) to raptors, small mammals, turtles, game and songbirds. After college, I volunteer at the San Francisco SPCA in their shelter medicine program where I administered ocular, oral, and ear medication to 40+ cats in a day and give medical baths to dogs when it is needed.
