I have been an enthusiastic pet owner and lover my whole life. Growing up, I wanted to work with exotic animals as a career, and had the amazing opportunity to intern at the Oakland Zoo. There, I was responsible for preparing diets, sanitation, and assisted in training exotic animals such as lemurs, as well as more domesticated animals such as rabbits, all with very little supervision. There were also always many animals in my home: cats, dogs, fish, rabbits, hamsters, and currently a guinea pig (at Mom's). I have also worked at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for 4 years in the Education department, educating guests about our animals in human care and their wild counterparts including conservation and proper care for wild animals. Though I have always and continue to love animals, I found a new passion for nutrition, and currently study this subject at UC Berkeley. Living in student housing has deprived me of pet ownership, so I would love to take care of your furry or scaly babies!
