My daughter is 8 years old and in 2nd grade. She is autistic, and her mother died a couple of years ago. She needs intensive help with writing and math, as well as reading. Her skills right now range from pre-k to 1st, so about 1. 5 grades below. To be effective, activities will need to focus on her interests- story-telling, make-believe, and other imaginative activities. She enjoys stories about animals, princesses, friendship, and other fun topics. She is typically delightful, but can have high emotional reactions when forced to do things that don't interest her. She needs frequent redirection to stay on task. This is an in-person job only.
