About the job
Ian is in his 60's in the early-mid stages of dementia. He mostly needs a companion during the day and someone to help transport him and accompany him in doing daily activities. He needs help with meal prep, meal reminders, and medication reminders. Ian would be best suited with someone who shares his interests and can have a conversation with. He's a history buff, was a middle school American history teacher for many years. Other interests include Scottish culture and Scottish terriers, animals in general, sailing, video games like Mario Kart and Mario Party (although he needs help to play at this point), collecting coins, books, and stamps. For this job there is definitely an emphasis on going out in the community and expanding Ian's social opportunities. Ideally, seeking a male caregiver as Ian would be more comfortable.
