About who needs care: My husband is weak on the left side from a stroke in May 2007. He walks independently, usually with a cane when outside. He needs help with bathing as he has trouble lifting his weak leg, washing and drying his back, and getting on his socks and pants He also wants help with range of motion exercises for his weak leg and his hands. His PT/OTs have sets of exercises that we can share and are easily followed. I am very happy to train the caregiver, as I have done many times in the past. About the care needs: A caregiver who is bright, flexible, and is willing to learn. Some exposure to range of motion exercise would be helpful. Ideally, a person who can drive as he may go into Blakeslee to get a coffee or just get out for a bit. It would be good if the caregiver could help with folding laundry after his bath and exercises, as there may be time with a shift time period. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
