About who needs care: Dad has some dementia. He forgets recent things but was a brilliant man and served in the military for 24 years. He has great stories! He has recently moved here from Oklahoma. He loves the Dodgers baseball. He has neuropathy in his feet so has trouble walking. He had a pulmonary embolism but recent tests showed it seems to have been reabsorbed. But he still gets very winded after just short distances. He is on 2 liters Oxygen to sleep and as needed during the day. He showers on his own but is completely out of breath and feels weak after. He has a SP tube into his bladder and has an external bag for urine and has had some recent difficulties with bowel control. He wears hearing aids. He sleeps or closes his eyes for 75% of the day unless watching baseball or golf. About the care needs: Dad loves baseball and golf. He likes history and action movies. Someone who can talk to him about such things would be nice. Dad also loves to eat-he gets very cranky if a meal is late but he will eat almost anything. He says he likes Scrabble and playing cards but he has turned down the opportunity to play whenever Ive asked him.
