About the job

Mom is living at home and is suffering from dementia which is progressing. She is happiest when outside on a walk or working in her yard. She also loves interacting with other seniors. We need a companion for our mother in Des Moines. Assistance with medication is needed. Willing to do light housekeeping. One of your responsibilities will be helping with bathing at some point. Experience assisting with feeding. She does not need assistance yet. Seeking someone to handle meal preparation. Duties include providing companionship and social interaction. Willingness to go on long walks. Willingness to plan outings and take to senior centers. We might ask you to run errands. You'll be responsible for transporting to/from appointments. Preferences for a caregiver who is a non-smoker and CPR / first-aid trained.
