About who needs care: My mother will be visiting with me over the summer. She lives in an independent living facility in VA, and, while at home, utilizes 1 hour of assistance with showering, personal care and dressing on MWF mornings. I would like to see if I can set up similar care for her while she is here. Mom is in pretty good shape, but she is a fall risk. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have had surgeries in my hand and spine which make Mom worry more about me than herself when I attempt to help her. We have a walk in shower with a shower chair, and Mom will be situated on the first level of the house-no stairs, so the physical set up is as easy as possible. Mom just needs someone to help her shower, put on lotion and deodorant, and get dressed safely. About the care needs: Mom is gentle and sweet and just needs a bit of help getting ready in the mornings. She uses a walker and is no longer steady on her feet. She is not a large lady (about 150 lbs), so physical strength is not an issue. Services needed include: feeding, and bathing / dressing.
