I have been a full time nanny for almost 12 years. For the last 10 years, I have been a part of five separate nanny shares for infants and toddlers; I have loved every minute of it and am hoping to find a similar situation. I would consider myself a master at schedules, naps, and baby sign language. I nurture children's natural curiosities, kiss their knees when they fall down, and remain firm during the inevitable tantrums. I like to make sure to get outside at least once a day, rain or shine. I have a car and clean driving record, so I'm able to take the kids on daily adventures to playgrounds, museums, community centers, etc. Favorite kid activities include reading all the books, dance parties, sing alongs, building forts, and cooking/baking. I'm fluent in Spanish, I am also a trained chef and have a catering business. I am fully vaccinated/boosted and expect families to be as well.

Amanda was more than just our son's nanny, she was part of the family. She was with our family for a year and a half before she moved away, and we miss her every day. I can't say enough about Amanda. She is trustworthy, smart, loving and creative. She is very hands-on and able to adapt to any situation. She is prompt, flexible and reliable. Amanda came highly recommended by her former employer who moved away, and we were thrilled when she accepted the job. Our situation was not a normal one, and Amanda accepted the challenge with grace and ease. When Amanda joined our family, our son was recovering from a bone marrow transplant. He was in isolation and could not interact with children nor could he be exposed to the sun. He had multiple in-house therapies each week, home health care visits and long hospital visits every couple of weeks. He was also on a very restricted diet. Amanda stepped right in and embraced the situation, forming an immediate bond with my son. Amanda is very attentive and nurturing. She went to the hospital with us and became immersed in his treatment regimen. She administered our son's medications on a daily basis. Amanda was always on top of his condition, notifying us each day on his well-being and flagging immediately if something seemed wrong. Our son was very limited in what he could do, and Amanda was very creative in coming up with fun activities to keep him entertained while also helping him develop. I often worked from home and would hear my son's squeals of joy as she entertained him with fun games, sang songs, "cooked" up a meal and more. Amanda worked closely with our son's developmental therapists and even did research on her own to come up with ideas to help him develop and grow. A trained chef, Amanda was instrumental in helping to get our son eating and gaining weight. She brainstormed and researched meal ideas within his diet restrictions and prepared them for our son. While it can be easy to "give in" to a sick child, Amanda remained firm with our son to help him understand rules, what's right v. wrong, etc. I'm happy to provide additional information upon request.
