I worked managing my home: shopping, cleaning, gardening, preparing meals, event planning, and bill paying, as well as my kid's schedules which included their sports, volunteer work, school and friends. I have assisted my husband by doing the bookkeeping for his electrical business. I have also done extensive volunteering at my children's elementary/middle school. I am currently the co-chairman of field day for the past 6 years and the co-chairman of cultural affairs for 3 non consecutive years. I have also worked on the school annual fundraiser as a decorator for two years and as a co-chair of the silent auction for one year. Outside of volunteering, I've held a job as a companion to an elderly woman from July 2010 to September 2012, ending after her passing. My duties were to mentally stimulate by arranging outings and some activities, reading books aloud, crosswords, arranging and attending medical appointments. During that time, I was also hired by her daughter to personally assist her handling of her mothers' home. Some duties were: the payroll for the care-taking staff, bills, record keeping, repair appointments for home and car and some gardening.
