Hi everyone. There is some confusion regarding my availability chart. I am not available at this time, however please do say hello and establish contact since schedules can change at any time. As a former paraprofessional speech therapist and elementary school teacher I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 3-21. Diagnosis' I have provided therapy for include Down syndrome, autism, "emotionally disturbed", cerebral palsy, selective mutism, language delays, articulation disorders, etc. I enjoy my special little friends and find them to be extra capable of loving others. I spent three years as a live-out nanny for six children, have been a repeat vacation nanny for many families, and have been the regular overnight nanny for working mothers on night shifts. Please write with any questions about my experience or viewpoints. My point of view can be summed up with: I believe in the capability of children. Even children who cannot speak can "request" with body language or pictures and I hold them capable of that. I believe that children should be treated with respect and love. I believe their opinions are important and that their wishes are as important as mine and should carry as much weight as mine, though I will be the final decision maker since I am the adult. I am very easy going and loving and easy to get along with and I treat my clients (parents and children) with respect and the deepest regard for their rights and privacy.
