You have to have a heart to work with these children, and in my case they are adults with special needs. I am very expressive with my eyes; a lot of communication was done with the help of it. Residents never saw sympathy in my eyes for them. You have to motivate them and let them know that they can do it. There are times I have to physically help them in and out of the shower, some have to the be spoon fed and others have to be changed. People ask me how do I do it, I let them know I don't think about it, I just do it; it comes naturally, they are God's little angels.
