I have spent 300 hours in Special Education Classrooms working with children ages 5-19 with a variety of disabilities. I was a nanny for six months to a boy with ADHD and severe food allergies. I was a camp counselor for a camp for children with special needs for two years. The children ranged in age from 5-15 and had various disabilities. I have coached children with disabilities in baseball and cheer leading. I have one more year left of school, I am senior status pursuing my degree in K-12 Special Education. I am a member of Student Council for Exceptional Children. Chairman for "Spread the Word to End the Word" Day. I have been a babysitter for a 16-year-old boy with Down Syndrome. I also have experience as a pre-school teacher at Northside Christian Childcare in Springfield. I worked for Americorps/OSU Kid Corps for about a year as a mentor/tutor for inner city youth who had been identified as at-risk for receiving special education services in the future.
